Nathan Tomlinson, managing director, Devonshire Motors (winner of Best Aftersales Performance & Best Dealership 2018) - Winning not one but two of the most respected awards in the industry has been invaluable to our business. Both in terms of providing our team with the highest level of recognition for their dedication and performance, but also in terms of raising the profile of Devonshire Motors and Mitsubishi; particularly through being awarded the Best Dealership title.

From the submission requirement, through to the audit and judging process you can be sure that if you are fortunate enough to win an AM Award the feeling of achievement you get will be very difficult to beat. This is an industry of amazing people and to be part of such a prestigious evening is a privilege worth working hard for.

 

Claire Maith, group finance director, Peter Vardy (Peter Vardy CarStore Glasgow winner of Sales Team of the Year 2018) - Winning our award in 2018 was awesome, it really supported the team’s belief that all of our hard work was worthwhile and that we are making a difference – we are all so proud!

 

David Crane, chief operations officer, Vertu Motors (Infiniti Newcastle winner of Most Improved Dealership 2018) - We have never entered ourselves for an awards event before. However we felt that the performance of Infiniti Newcastle deserved external recognition. We were fortunate enough to win and that was a great thing for the Colleagues in the Dealership who have put their heart and soul into building a great business. The process of entering was straightforward and the external audit of our submission was well informed and fair.

 

Simon Priest, centre principal, Porsche Centre Wolverhampton (winner of New Retailer of the Year 2018) - The whole process of being part of AM awards 2018 gave the whole Centre a buzz from the moment we first entered and had an audit visit to the awards ceremony was such an exciting journey. The evening itself was brilliant – I was fortunate to have my whole leadership with me and everyone felt so involved.

When our category came round the energy around our table was electric! And when we were announced the table went ballistic and I have to say that this was the proudest moment of my 20 year motor trade career – being stood on the stage accepting this award is a true honour.

Being part of the AM awards was something I would without question encourage every dealer to take part it in – I cannot believe there is any better way of recognising excellence throughout our industry.

 

Darren Bradford, general manager, Drayton Motors (winner of Best Used Car Performance 2018) - As a business who has been lucky enough to win at the AM Awards for two years in a row, it means everything for us that our hard work be recognised. We know that we do a good job at Drayton Motors but to have it confirmed and to be able to say that we’re an Award Winning Dealership is a wonderful feeling. It’s helped us put out more attractive marketing messages and makes us more desirable as an employer too.

 

Marie Dobson, head of human resources, Belgium & Luxembourg, Renault Retail Group (winner of Best Training & Development Programme 2018) - Winning the Best Training and Development Programme 2018 award with Automotive Management is a fantastic recognition of how Renault support, develop and retain highly talented individuals. The Personal Development Programmes help the company with succession planning as our promotion rate is 68%. I have been recently promoted to Head of HR for Renault Belgium and Luxembourg and the HR Director of Renault Retail Group Europe asked me to implement similar training programmes across Europe.

 

Ben Scholes, communication & content manager, CarShop (winner of Best Social Media Strategy 2018) - Taking home the Social Media Strategy award not only reflected the great efforts of the CarShop social team, it's also influenced and shaped the future social media strategy. Breaking down the winning components, our win has inspired us to ensure we stay ahead of the game and truly cater for our social audience. We were truly honoured by the accolade and the recognition from the industry, and will continue to strive for excellence in spaces occupied by the car buyers of today, tomorrow and beyond.

 

Martin Sewell, managing director, Rockar (winner of Digital Retailer of the Year 2018) - To be awarded the coveted Digital Retailer of the Year award from AM is brilliant news. We’re thrilled that all of our hard work over the past five years has been recognised; the Rockar team has done a terrific job and this is arguably just the beginning for us. Change is happening within the car industry, and we’re excited to be at the forefront of this shift, as more and more car brands and dealers move towards omni-channel car retailing.I’d like to say a big thank you to the AM team for acknowledging all the great work we’re doing.
